Hi all, did a big branch removal task on my big black pine. I think I may have gone too far looking back on pictures. It's mid winter here in syd Australia. Any words of advise or experience in this matter

I like the design you have made, and agree that you may have pushed it too far.

I would protect the tree from frost in winter and keep it in shade for the spring.

Other than that, just wait and see. JBPs ar tough trees.

Thanks! I'm really hoping that it survives!! If it does survive it will be a couple of years before it starts pushing good buds to start the growth of the secondary branches! Here's to hoping

?Hahaha yeah it's a big girl!! Not sure what the size of the pot is but it is a big unit! I hope it lives. Here is a pic of the tree but refined through Gemini ai. This is the vision I saw when doing this tree and the ai has confirmed it

In this context you should really trust your own vision. There are no value in AI confirmation.

I do trust my vision, I always do. But thought I'd try it and see what it would come up with and it was exactly how I saw it! Just interesting that's all. Over the last few days I have noticed the branch ends/needles and buds have started pointing up towards sunlight which is promising. I am giving it full sun through the day and putting it undercover at night. We are getting 20°c through the day and a low of 6°c overnight.?
