My wife and I picked up this azalea bonsai at BonsaiPlaza in Boskoop Holland this weekend.? I am impressed with their store.. And trees.. Plus they have reasonable prices..

Anyway.. The owner said I should definitely repot this tree.. And I concure.. The soil drains so poorly that water pools

I think I will take the after flowering option this year. Anyone with experience with that??
It is flowering now.?
Any ideas? Cautions? Etc??
I've always repotted my other Satsuki in early spring.?

?

You can repot after flowering, I always have. I don't leave flowers on long anyway. If it is draining that badly then I would do it soon?

I supposed I could remove all the flower buds now and repot as soon as I have enough kanuma...?

But I did want to give it some time to adjust first.?

I have always repotted in late winter to early spring. Last year I bought one bad dragning azalea. I waited until spring this year before repotting and so far it seems like it worked good.
