Hey yĄŻall,
So about a year ago I posted about a willow IĄŻd taken from a cutting, and yĄŻall gave me some good advice. That same willow is doing quite well. Almost too wellĄ itĄŻs gotten really big. IĄŻm attaching a picture, and IĄŻll measure it later. What do I do about that? I want it to be a bonsai, not a full grown tree. How do I shorten it without making it look ugly? Also, some stuff recently died off at the bottom. Is that normal?
Thanks in advance

This is interesting. I have no experience in making this a bonsai but I hope some chimes in.

At this point, I would just loose the thicker of the two trunks. Your tree will need to grow a lot taller to gain thickness before you reduce the height.

No, I dont tell you to cut it off. I am saying that it is what I would do. Its your tree.
Btw, I would wait for late winter or early spring to do that.
