Hi guys,
My name is Ed, a bonsai beginner!
I¡¯ve collected a few species of trees a couple of months ago. I¡¯d like to try to shape them in several bonsai styles.
4 x Sycamore (Acer pseudoplatanus)
1 x Pedunculate oak(Quercus robur)
2 x Grey Poplar (Populus x canescens)
2 x unknown (American Oak?)
This image is hidden for guests.
After about 3 months:

One of the gray poplars is growing rapidly. Is now a good time to start cutting a few of the long branches? I¡¯m aiming for a Chokkan style I think.

Cheers,
Ed

Plant them in the ground and wait a few years. There is nothing you can do when they are that tiny.

So basically I'll have to report back in after a few years?
Nothing much for me to do then.

Yep.

Nope, start researching bonsai techniques online, buy books, take courses, join a club. There's plenty to do.
