Hello! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how old this Serissa and Ficus are and if I should move them into bigger pots.

I would guess some 5 years old and I think their pots are big enough for now to let them grow.

I would guess 2-3 years max. They aren't bonsai and they shouldn't be in bonsai pots.

Hello, I’m lurking the forums to learn more. This spring I wan’t to get a ficus. Do you say that it “isn’t a bonsai” because its just an untrained young tree? I notice the trunk is nothing close to as thick as it should be for a bonsai, is this one of the key factors making it “not a bonsai”. And it shouldn’t be in a bonsai pot because its not developed and needs a bigger pot to grow correctly right?

Thank you, learning has occurred. I want to get a ficus soon. I’m in Michigan and planting a few outdoor trees might be hard, I’d need to make accommodations to let them be outside but also not let the cold and winds destroy them. Next spring maybe I’ll look into getting a few for outside.
