Hello, I'm relatively new to bonsai (I have done my research first, and raising a small scarlet maple) and I'm curious if trumpet vine is able to become bonsai. I know the basics of the plant: such as it is invasive, has compound leaves, large flowers, and is quite hardy. I'm currently trying to grow a bonsai version of the vine, and I would like suggestions if any?

Thank you, I've read through this before, it showed that not many people did it, and there's a few pictures on google, but there isn't any information on fertilizer types (if any) and the soil ratios, I would assume the same a deciduous trees.

I will add pictures as it moves along though, and maybe learn some stuff so maybe I can help others

Hey this is a fall update on the trumpet vine, it doesn't need much maintenance except extensive trimming from time to time. Highly hardy.
