I bought a bonsai that has dark green shiny smooth leaves and kind of resembles bamboo. It has red where the leaves branch out and the tag says it requires moderate light. It is supposed to be an inside tree. Does anyone know the type?

this would be a lot easier with a picture but the only plant I know that goes from red to green is photinia. Unless you are saying something different, i'm not quite sure.

there's also Japanese knot weed but I'm almost definite that nobody would try to sell that as a bonsai tree. Almost.

And.. inside trees do not exist.All trees are evolved to be outside.
