Hm.. I would say.. Why not. And nope.. Not as strange as you might think. Some very well known potters use some form of concrete, or even cement-based glue, to create pots. THe nice thing is.. You can shape it fairly easily and does not require a kiln, saving enourmously on production cost. Have a look at this guys work:

they might be ok for training but not for anything else.

Oh, sorry in my opinion. Seriously, some of my trees are heavy enough without having concrete pots. I have a huge Larch in a bread basket and I have difficulty lifting it now, any heavier and I would not be able to move it let alone lift it.

m5eaygeoff, did you check the link I posted? But also well-known artists like colin Lewis use this material for pots: . As for weight..NI don't think it has to be heavier than regular pots (I know of canoes being build out of concrete..)

Do you let the base harden before you place the box inside to create the walls or can you put it in there with the wet concrete? Call me crazy but I would be afraid the box would be stuck in the concrete when it hardens. I have laid my fair share but it has been a while since I used any.

Very nice work. If the sealer works, you might have a nice side income!!!
