Hey! I made a spot to put the juniper on the balcony! But because of the 4 seasons is there anything I should watch out for? I know to check watering daily but anything else? ?

Well done. Now you have a 4 season plant outdoors in a 4 season climate. Or rather temperate climate and tree using the right terminology. Not much to think about more than watering. And obviously styling, but that is in a quite distans future.

Awesome! Ya I really did not want my juniper to die, so I found a spot outside even if it’s not the best spot. I also found out that I can’t use neem oil on junipers so I had to wash that out yesterday. But yes I’m going to keep watering it. I usually do the chopstick test to see if the juniper and other plants need watering. But do you have any tell tales if a juniper needs watering without the chopstick test, since the soil is mostly inorganic I would a 65/35 mix

Here is the correct watering method for any bonsai planted in a suitable mostly inorganic substrate:

When the top of the soil apears dry to the eye. With a fine strainer water abundantly until there is a steady stream flowing out of the drainage holes.

I actually put something else under so it will fall off so I don’t need to move to water?

Moving the tree or moving what it stands on. Potato, potato. I guess you need to move the tree to change what it is standing on?

?????One tree I guess it works. But on the other hand, one tree is not a hobby. When you get more of them you will definetly prioritize ease of watering.

Ya I see what you mean, most of the tropic ones I’m keeping indoors but the juniper is kept outdoors, it’s this big concrete pot I just placed it inside, it’s guarded by the edges, eventually I’ll figure out better spots for it when I get more but for now I think it works as I want to learn with this little guy how to do the outdoor stuff.?
