Hi guys, i have wired my shimpaku 3 months ago and now it has started to yellow on the inner foliage, is my tree going to die?

The wiring is not good, you need to take it off. The plant looks ok, and no it is not going to die, I assume it is on an outside shelf in full sun and getting well watered. It is far too small to be wired it needs another two or three year growing?

If i take off the wireing wont that just cause more stress? And i have it on a shelf where there is no direct sunlight, is that ok? But why would i take off the wireing, dont you need to wire it early so that you can get some nice shapes? I also try not to move the plant so i dont cause any stress.

The plant needs sun. not shade. The wire is not doing anything, no shape or style. It will not stress taking it off. If it is not done well then it does not help, You can leave it if you want, but the plant should be in the sun, and where it gets wind and rain. It is only a very young plant and needs to be grown for several years before any work can be done.

To my eye the wires actually do quite much. That bend is massive and would not be possible without the wires. It is not beautiful wiering, but it does do its thing.

For a shohin tree this is the right time to wire. If you are aiming for a bigger tree it makes sense to wait a few more years.
