If that was mine it would have a hard prune, this will produce a lot of growth and quite possibly enough to prune again later in the summer. There is nothing you can do about the curve of the trunk, but by turning the tree slightly it may be possible to hide it a bit, also by tilting the tree may improve the look. It is all subjective, and down to opinions, no one is wrong just different.

I assume you’re referring to the mother tree and not the cutting?
Agree with the angle and I’ll look to attend to it when I repot next spring. I’ll look at the roots too. The bend doesn’t bother me. I’ll trim back all new growth to 2 or 3 leaves except on the branch I’m trying to thicken. Thanks for your input. ??
