Can anyone recommend an inside tree or are there none?

Some can be grown inside, but they struggle and are never as healthy as the ones located outdoors.

Jade trees do very fine inside year round. They Will not flower if kept in constant temperature and all bonsai People dont agree that it makes a good bonsai. But they Will grow and stay healthy inside and are fun to try doing bonsai from.

Inside trees are usually tropicals, like Jade, Ficus, Eugenia, etc. if your not sure about what you have, check out the “ID My Tree Guide” page on this site. Generally speaking, indoor trees like a comfortable temperature. Whatever you keep you living room temperature at should be fine. I keep my house right around 70 degrees. However, tropicals do prefer a higher humidity, so investing in a humidity tray for your tree is a good idea. When it comes to placement for your indoor tree, be sure to give it plenty of light. Tropicals need a lot of light. Find a south-facing window, and place you tree there. Be cognizant of how far from the window you place it. Even a few feet can make a big difference in the amount of light your tree receives. Keep it close. More light equals more growth and a stronger tree. I hope this has been helpful.
