It doesn't matter.
Fact is, conifers are slow growing and we don't expect nothing nearly finished before 10/20 years.
Tropicals are fast growing (in tropical conditions) and can be pretty thick and in refinement stage after 5/10 years.
So when you buy a bonsai online, be careful, as many of the commercial vendors lie about the age of the trees as if it were important, just to charge more for your young tree.

Good words! When I bought my first bush, it was overpriced (I didnĄŻt knew), the first thing I asked was the age (I didnĄŻt knew) and after I came here proudly to show IĄŻve got something cool (I didnĄŻt knew) from a bonsai nursery. Of course IĄŻve got schooled (cause I didnĄŻt knew) and from here I started to learning like no tomorrow.
(I hiding this tree. I hope itĄŻll surprise many of you when itĄŻll be revealed)

This girl is moved by challenges and surprises!
NOW I got really curious...
Let's put up a date; when are you showing us the ugly duckling turned into a swan?

We know, I cannot make a nicely developed old tree from a young bushling in a reasonable time. I thought, maybe next summer would be good to make a topic. There, I could have at least some secondary branches in place. Or.. could we put up that date around 2050? X)
