Buy seeds. Let the seed germinate. Allow to grow for 10 years. Study bonsay. Cut the tree back, so you have a good sized trunk. Now grow the bonsai.

That is a great blanket answer. Also, save money for pots, soil, and tools. The good stuff will cost ya.
