Right guys, I need your expert advise.
I took a walk up the woods with my dog today for the first time since starting 51cg.
I picked out a bunch of material that I would like to make an attempt at collecting. ( I have the land owners permission to take what I want)
I believe the ones I thought would make good Bonsaiwere a maple, and couple of different types of pine. I will upload pics next time I’m there.
Is airlayering the best option or digging them up more efficient. I’m yet to try either of these techniques. There’s a bunch I can try on so it’ll be trial and error.
What is the most effective way?

Normally digging up is better. But right now is glabally a bad time of year.

When’s the best time of year to collect?

For Most species right before they start to grow in spring.
