Hello I'm new to the whole online bonsai scene, I was just curious about what your guys think about artificial bonsai. Would your opnion change if you knew that the artificial bonsai was manufactured, or hand made. Do you think that they take out the whole art of the bonsai? I wanna know your thoughts on this matter, it interests me.

Simple: artificial bonsai are not bonsai.

Do you mean a living tree or something fake. Bonsaido not grow like that, there made by cultivating, pruning, wirrering ect. See bonsai basic op this site, so there is always some degree of artificial about bonsai in my opinion. But fake, what's the fun in that! For me it's about creating someting out of a living tree/plant and nursing it. i could not find pleasure in making, collecting or selling fake bonsai. But thats my opinion, if you find pleasure in it, what the heck, go for it.

But yeah, like in the real bonsai world, there's a lot of difference in quality. There are even artificial mallsai...

I guess I should have, I didn't know that things like that existed. This does make the OP make more sense, though.

Why bother, would be the answer, I suppose?

I think KenHiguchi is or wants to make them and is looking for a target demographic.
I think they have those type of things at crappy chain restaurants like p.f. changs and panda express.
