The Taikan-ten takes place each year in November, in Kyoto. The level of the displayed Bonsaiis incredibly high.
The Taikan-ten is one of the few traditional shows that features Bonsaiin displays, with scrolls and suiseki. But several contemporary displays can be found as well. The best Bonsaiof the show is awarded the Prime Minister Award, this year a Juniper owned by mr. Katsuya (designed by Shinji Suzuki) won the award.
