The Taikan-ten is one of Japan's leading Bonsaiexhibitions, with an incredibly high level of Bonsaitrees on display. It takes place each year in November, in Kyoto.
The Taikan-ten is one of the few traditional shows that features Bonsaiin displays, with scrolls and suiseki. But several contemporary displays can be found as well. The sales area is worth a visit as well, scroll down to see what a 160,000 USD Bonsaitree looks like! The best of show is awarded the Prime Minister Award.
